Courtney’s dream was to work in the medical field. She had begun working towards a medical certification, but as a single mom, she was balancing work, childcare, and finishing up her education. When COVID happened and virtual school started, she lost childcare for her son along with the ability to show up to work consistently.
With her second son on the way, Courtney knew she needed additional support. She contacted Raleigh Rescue Mission and joined the New Life Plan. During each phase of the program, Courtney has utilized the tools and resources she needed to achieve her dream job and create stability for her family.
Courtney enhanced her skills and abilities during vocational training. She focused on job readiness and completing her medical education in Jobs for Life. While working hard and accomplishing her goals, the Children’s Development Center provided care for her children and peace of mind for Courtney.
At times, the stress of motherhood and pursuing her goals felt overwhelming, but Courtney persevered. She completed her medical training and graduated from Jobs for Life with a job offer at a community health center in Raleigh. Her hard work and determination paid off!
Courtney has become a source of encouragement for other mothers at Raleigh Rescue Mission, saying “whatever you want in life, stay focused and determined, keep going after it and you will achieve it.”
Your support provided Courtney access to the resources she needed to not just maintain a job, but to achieve her dream job!
Courtney goes into work excited and ready to impact the world for good.
