Winter Clothing Ministry
For someone who spends the winter unsheltered on Raleigh’s streets, warm clothing offers not only comfort, but also survival. In fact, hypothermia can become a danger even in temperatures as mild as 50 degrees. Our winter ministry provides blankets, coats, gloves, scarves, hats and other cold weather gear for men, women and children who would otherwise have no protection on the coldest days and nights.
Photo ID is required, and availability of winter clothing may vary. Winter clothing is provided Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9am-11am, during the months of November through February.
Summer Water Ministry
Raleigh is notorious for hot, muggy summers. Every year, people end up in our emergency rooms due to dehydration, heat exhaustion and even heat stroke. Unsheltered men, women and children are at greatest risk. Raleigh Rescue Mission moves into gear to save lives by offering the simple gift of cold water on the hottest days between May and August.
And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.
