Children Revel in Summer Fun and Adults Get Jobs, Cars and Housing
July 27, 2021
Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow! The clients at Raleigh Rescue Mission continue to be hard at work in July, reaching goals they’ve set for themselves. The children in our care are having a great time participating in both traditional and non-traditional summer activities. Thanks to you, our supporters, here are just a few examples of the way God has blessed us since our last update:
- 5 men and women are preparing resumes and practicing their interviewing skills as they finish up the latest Jobs for Life course. Graduation is set for July 30th
- 3 clients obtained and/or started sustainable jobs that match their skills and abilities
- 3 clients and their families moved away from the Mission into apartments of their own. We continue to serve these individuals and families to encourage and support them throughout the rest of their journey.
- 2 clients saved enough money to, with the help of the Mission, purchase a safe, reliable vehicle. This accomplishment greatly widens viable employment opportunities for good-paying jobs that might be outside public transportation routes.
- While parents are navigating through the New Life Plan, their children are thrilled to receive opportunities to revel in summer fun, thanks to our awesome supporters. Along with summer school, last week they played at the Knightdale Station Park Splash Pad. The kids also attend summer camp through the City of Raleigh, and visit Community Music School of Raleigh to practice their musical skills.
Join us in congratulating our clients for their perseverance! Join us in celebrating children who are finding a joy that they may not have experienced before! As we celebrate good news, please continue to pray for the clients, staff, volunteers and donors who serve as God’s hands and feet at Raleigh Rescue Mission.
