Six women and six men completed the Jobs for Life curriculum and celebrated with a special graduation ceremony in November. Vintage church members David Smoot and Grace Williamson provided special music at the celebration, and the commencement speaker was former client and staff member Jeremy Verret. To date, since graduating, more than half of the current class of graduates have secured sustainable employment and are actively working.
Jobs for Life has become an integral part of Phase 3 of the Mission’s New Life Plan. It’s a biblically-based curriculum created right here in Raleigh in 1996 and is now taught all over the world. Classes help prepare men and women to experience the dignity of work through mentoring, resume prep and interviewing skills training, and an ongoing community of support. Clients are putting into practice what they’ve learned and are finding good jobs. You can find out more about JFL here (www.jobsforlife.org).
Our next Jobs for Life course begins in January. If you’re interested in becoming a Life Coach to one of our clients in the next class, please contact Chris Hill at puevfu@enyrvtuerfphr.bet.
